The band is a journey. I have had mine 2.5 years and can say its the BEST thing I have ever done in my life. I fought my weight most of my life. I had been quite successful losing on my own several times, but over the following years I slowly gained back and found myself unhappy again. I have lost over 120 pounds with the band and never gained anything back more than a pound or two that disappears within a couple of days. I am a firm believer that it is a tool, not a cure. Once I got to my fill sweet-spot I found that I can eat anything I want, just not a lot of it, so managing my weight has become a no-brainer, but I do still have to remind myself to chew chew chew from the very first bite. My life is soooo much better without the 120+ pounds that it would take hours to describe the differences – Once you start to loose you will be amazed at how much you put up with in the past when you were heavy… I encourage anyone thinking of have this procedure DO IT ! I predict you will be one happy camper with the results.

Thank you,
I was concern about my frist band fill.

Thank you for the information and the posting. I just had my band surgery in March. I am ready for my first fill. I wanted my band so badly. That I did not research what happens after you get it put in. I didn’t even think about how or what would happen after I got it. I just knew that R u Y was not for me. I had gotten scared that I had made the wrong decision. I am now ready for that fill.

Thanks again DW

Congrats on making it as far as you have. It sounds like you have adjusted to life with your band and on your way to success.
